Accounting Coordinator

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform general accounting and other duties as part of the daily operations of the Finance department
  • Maintain general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices/expenses and accounts analysis/reconciliation
  • Assist with the monthly close process
  • Prepare and send internal budget reports
  • Manage the accounts payable process to ensure proper entry of accounts payable with proper approvals for invoices and expense reports
  • Manage communications with vendors and contractors regarding payments
  • Perform monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Manage and enforce employee expense processes and policies
  • Assist with administration of annual budget process
  • Participate in the period-end closing process to include work with outside auditors as appropriate and necessary
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Fulfills the Journey’s membership requirements as outlined in the membership covenant
  • Fulfills the character qualifications and duties of Deacon as taught in Scriptures (1 Tim 3:8-13)
  • Experience in accounting, bookkeeping or administration demonstrating a familiarity with GAAP
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with general ledger software, donor management systems and Google Docs
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills including the management of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to analyze and interpret sensitive financial data in a discreet, professional manner
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field strongly preferred

    Status: Full-Time, Non-exempt
    Schedule: Mon.-Fri. 8a.m.-5p.m.
