Why Should I Join A Group?

We believe that involvement in a community group is one of the most important things you can do to deepen your walk with Christ.  Spiritual growth happens when you live out life with a community of believers.  It’s also the best way to meet new people and connect to our church. In community groups, we gather together to learn how to love God and love one another. Groups are not only the primary entry point into community at The Journey Southern Illinois, they also represent the church on a personal level. Joining a community group is the best way to truly be a part of our church.

What Should I Expect?

Most of our community groups consist of 10-15 people who meet either weekly or bi-weekly in a home or at the church.  Most of our groups center around discussion of the week’s sermon, but also enjoy prayer and socially connecting with one another. You do not have to be a member of The Journey Southern Illinois to be a part of a community group.  All are welcome!  Childcare is available in some groups.

How Do I Join A Group?

We would love for you to take the first step by simply sharing your interest with us.  We want to find a group that fits you!  We have approximately 10 groups meeting throughout the area! If you are interested in more information, you can complete this INTEREST FORM, contact Shane and Stacey Grinnell at sgrinnell@thejourney.org, or call the church office at 618-944-4040. We look forward to talking with you about this ministry of our church and getting you plugged in!!!
